Meet Harvey. Wandering the streets for weeks or months, a Good Samaritan brought this boy into their home and then to AARF for foster care which includes a lot of love and in his case A LOT of medical attention. According to Dr. Pete, Harvey is about 3 years old and only weighs 42 lbs. His body condition is scored at 1/9, the lowest possible score. He has a heavy load of Heartworm on top of that. But as you can see in the pictures, he’s friendly, wants to be touched and give kisses. Why Harvey? We feel that this pup is a Great Dane. Great Danes hail from Germany. Harvey is a German based name that means strong spirit and battle worthy. Harvey’s foster dad, Eric, chose this as a thoughtful way to recognize Harvey’s journey. Stay tuned.
