It’s #ThrowbackThursday at Tanglewood Park. In 1974, Tanglewood Park hosted the 56th annual PGA Championship! The PGA Championship is one of the most prestigious golf tournaments played throughout each season and is recognized as one of golf’s four “Majors” every year. In 1974, Lee Trevino edged out Jack Nicklaus by just one stroke on the weekend to take home the PGA Championship with a final score of (-4) under par. The now called “Championship Course” is still available for play open to the public at Tanglewood Park!

Fun Fact: It is claimed that Lee Trevino used a putter in this tournament that he found in a friend’s attic just a few days before the tournament started. Trevino only had one “three-putt” on the weekend through 72 holes of golf and propelled his way to victory with a strong short game.
