It’s Food Pic Friday: Fish Tacos Edition Preparing tasty and nutritious meals for our hungry neighbors is a blessing. As we continue to celebrate National Nutrition Month, we would like share how you can make one of our delicious meals for yourself starting with Fish Tacos! Ingredients to make your own Fish Tacos:… Whiting (fish of your choice) Olive oil (oil of your choice) Lemon juice Seasonings: Old Bay, lemon pepper, Garlic powder, and salt/pepper Taco Shells or Tortilla wraps – flour or corn (your choice) Ingredients to make Cold Slaw: Shredded cabbage Shredded carrots Mayonnaise Worcestershire sauce Garlic powder Vinegar Sugar Salt and Pepper How to Cook Fish Tacos: Preheat your own to 350 degrees. Place your choice of fish on a baking sheet, then begin to spread lemon juice on the surface. Grab a small bowl to mix your seasoning. Once mixed, begin to spread on top of your fish. Place fish into the oven and cook for 8-10. Be sure to check with a fork – must be fully cooked. Once done, take a small bowl and start shredding the fish. Take your base (taco shells or tortilla wrap) and follow their package warming instructions. After warmed, add your shredded fish and cold slaw to your base. Then PERFECTO! You have just made fish tacos. You can add sour cream, salsa, and a dash of lemon/lime juice (optional). For Cold Slaw: Grab a large bowl, then start mixing all of your ingredients together. Place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes then serve as desired.
