Here’s a throwback to 2017 when I performed at an elder care center, I don’t think I played anything that day that came out before 1940. After running through some Piedmont Blues the gentleman in the picture asked if I knew ‘Pony Blues’ by Charlie Patton. I obliged and we took the photo together before I left.

That day took me back to my early 20’s and the acoustic Blues that made me start playing out in front of people which eventually led to my musical career. I can’t escape the stuff, it’s been in me since I was a teenager and lately I’ve been going back and listening to those old Country Blues songs and playing them on the same acoustic guitar and metal resonator I used to at my gigs from 1998-2002.

Very few people are playing in this Blues style anymore so I thought why not do a livestream concert on Facebook this Saturday nite at 7pm of nothing but Country Blues? It’ll cure my itch and hopefully put a smile the faces of those who love the music as much as I do, I hope I can still do it justice.

This short concert will include songs by heavyweights like Charlie Patton, Son House, Robert Johnson, Blind Boy Fuller and Willie Brown, “baby don’t you want to go?”
