Project Impact was established in 2016 to provide funding for the district to develop programs and approaches that begin working with children even before they start kindergarten and that continue to work with them to provide the foundation for becoming proficient readers by the end of third grade. This past summer, community members gathered in the student activities center on the campus of Winston-Salem State University to update supporters on the project.
