My Low Down Blues Revue hits Sweet Old Bill’s tomorrow nite, sit down and rest awhile! In the 5th installment of our Blues series there we’ll focus on 1960’s West Side Chicago Blues. You may be asking “what’s West Side Chicago Blues”?

Whereas the 1950’s raw Blues being played in clubs in the south side of Chicago basically amplified the sounds that came out of the Delta, in the early 60’s the clubs on the west side featured flashier upcoming guitarists such as Buddy Guy, Otis Rush and Magic Sam who favored/insinuated playing in in minor keys and would also employ horn sections.

We don’t have a horn section but we got the guts but the guts need fuel, come on by and see about us honey!
